Woke up this morning with no clue what today's blog would be about. I know there was something HE wanted to say through me, just didn't have a clue. Then I get a message from my little cousin Rico, who's serving in Iraq right now. As usual the conversation turned towards the Lord. Yet the subject matter guided me to share this message. As I read his responses, I realized all week I've heard similar things from other people. Actually, throughout my life.
As a child of The King we are commissioned to spread HIS Word. Amen? Yet many believers fail to do this, and the reason is always similar. It always seems to come back to the authenticity of the Word. A large number of the church questions the validity of the Bible. They hear all of these other peoples opinions, see a show on the History channel, attend some "service" that claims to teach the truth. SMH.
Nothing about the Bible is hidden from you. There's not one question about it you can't find the answer to. If you're the type who needs a third-party co-sign.....there are plenty of books out there. Check out "Mere Christianity", or "The Case for Christ". Do a little history on the authors of these books and you'll notice something interesting. They were atheist who came to Jesus The Christ because they were trying to find proof the Bible is invalid. Hmmmmmmm.
Why is it that those outside of the body study the Word more than most inside of it? Why is it that they're more knowledgeable about our faith than many of us? How does this happen? How long will you let it?
It's great to go to Bible study, it's even better if you study the Bible. All of you savvy consumers out there can recite all the specs of whatever "thing" you're trying to purchase because you research it. Don't you think it's more important to research HIM. I know, I know.....I'm a weirdo. I don't know why I think that way, excuse me for that. (LOL)
Simple verse to meditate on, you've been hearing it your whole life. Time to make it away of life. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV) Until next week, I love y'all........
