During my "days in the wilderness" these types of thoughts are what I used to justify my not participating in "church activities". On more than one occasion my father would ask me the same question. "Maxwell, people always complain about what's going on in the church, and how they feel the church is full of all these fake people. Did they ever stop to think that them not participating is the problem? Rather than the true worshippers getting run out of the church, shouldn't they be flooding the church making the fake ones flee?" Never could I disagree with that thinking.
The first letter in if is "i". Lower case, because we know the only type of upper case "I" is I AM. Rather than talking about what the body is lacking, do something about it. Did it ever dawn on you that God has revealed this lack to you because He means for you to fill it? That this lack is actually your calling and purpose? That this lack is due to your disobedience? Hmmmmmm.
I love the story of Gideon! Most times people focus on Judges 17, yet read Chapter 16. Pay particular attention to verses 13-15. Go ahead, grab your bible....take a look. You see it? Gideon was just like the rest of us. Grumbling and mumbling about the condition of the people, yet never realizing all of the things on his heart were there because God was going to use him to accomplish this mission. In verse 13 Gideon didn't realize with Whom he was speaking. By verse 15 he does, and notice the change in his attitude.
God's not asking you to fulfill His purpose by yourself, read verse 16. Just let Him use you, and worship Him for who He is and what He's doing through you. Don't worry, He'll do whatever needs to be done so you have no questions that it is Him leading you (verses 17-23). Yet first you gotta get to your "verse 15" and recognize your condition, rather than whining about the "church's" issues. AMEN? Tell yourself, "If the body lacks anything, it's probably i." Surrender your "i" to I AM. If a finger is cut off from the body, the body will adapt and live. The finger will not. Can you dig it?
