People told me about reverential fear, and I swallowed it for awhile. I had no choice, there is scripture that backs it. Yet, His word has other texts that illuminated this concept more easily for me to grasp. Case in point: This weeks verse. I love reading the books of the minor prophets. Those little books have a heap of concentrated knowledge. Not a whole lot of beating around the bush, just straight to the point. Accept it or don't, doesn't change the fact that it's truth.
I know it's that time of year, and everyone is rushing around. Therefore, let me just cut to the chase. The best verse that made me understand reverential fear is Habakkuk 3:2. Truth, it's a prayer the prophet was making to God. What I get from it is you fear God for what He has done in the past, and what He is capable of. Yet, you love Him because of the grace and mercy he extends en lieu of His wrath. Take a read and tell me what you think; "O Lord, I have heard your speech and was afraid; O Lord, revive your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it know; In wrath remember mercy." (Habakkuk 3:2 NKJV) I invite you all to share your opinions, that is what the comment box is for. If you have any other verses that may help someone understand reverential fear, just submit it and I'll post it. Love ya, love ya, love ya......until next week.....
